Whether we can admit it or not, big campaign donors run our country because they buy the government they want. And any donations coming from middle America just can't compete with people who routinely collect tens of billions of dollars from the government ATM. The government ATM has been hacked and there is no fixing it. There is however, the greatest opportunity in history to bring about the absolute best form of government possible where every citizen is an actual member of a people's congress.
With blockchain protected smartphone technology, it is now possible to give everyone in society a voice at very nearly zero costs or delay. No matter what the issue, even down to what the school cafeteria serves, can be voted on by just the people affected, at the drop of a hat and at no cost. Even better, everyone would be able to propose solutions, offer modifications to a proposed solution, and vote individually, on every element of a proposal. Equally importantly, only authorized voters could vote and voting process itself would be protected so that a ruling class would not be able to steal elections and the life savings of the working class.
Because of our current form of government, when I get near the end of my life when I need my savings the most, I will only get ten cents worth of value from all those dollars I saved through my working life. In effect, a criminal syndicate has the working class' credit card and is going on a spending spree. It isn't bad enough that government takes roughly half of everything we earn, they then devalue, at a fantastic rate, what we have left. They make casinos look good.
It is the best of times and worst of times. While we have crossed the rubicon and now have a totalitarian police state government, we also have smartphone technology to bring about the greatest advancement in the art of governance. Throughout history, the masses have been punked by the powerful. For the first time in history, it is now possible for the masses to completely and peacefully disenfranchise the current ruling class. We can effectively kick the plantation owners off the plantation and actually have a say in how this place is run.
It seems so obvious and it is perplexing that there are not already millions of people working towards creating a true democracy. I am naively optimistic that this evolution has to come about. But I am constantly tempered by either the indifference or myopia of the slave class. Perhaps soon, a few that hear about this fantastic opportunity to give not just our country, but the world, a true democracy, will begin conversations and create the groundswell this opportunity deserves.
